Three fixed placements, sold to businesses and organizations across Kanata and Ottawa's west end. No negotiated pricing, no surprise tiers — the rate card below is the whole offer.
The rate card
Each row is one placement. The price, the format and the run length are fixed; what you choose is which of the three fits your timing and budget.
Field Log Newsletter Line
$145 CADA one-line sponsor mention with a link, placed in our weekly field log newsletter. The field log goes out to readers across Kanata, Stittsville, Carp and Bells Corners who follow our reporting on the west end. It suits small businesses and community events that want a simple, affordable line — a new opening, a market date, a fundraiser — without committing to a longer campaign.
The line runs for two consecutive editions. We draft the wording with you and send it back for approval before the first edition goes out, and we report open counts for both editions once the run is complete.
Deliverables
- One sponsor line with a link, placed in two consecutive weekly editions
- Copy drafted by our editorial team and reviewed with you before it runs
- Open counts for both editions, delivered after the second one goes out
Ridge & Valley Audio Package
$670 CADFour host-read sponsor mentions across our biweekly podcast, which carries stories from Kanata, the Carp Ridge and the tech park corridor. This package is built for agricultural suppliers, co-operatives, regional retailers and cultural organizations who want their name spoken by a familiar local voice rather than dropped in as a recorded ad.
The package spans roughly two months of episodes. We write the read with your input, send it for approval before it airs, and follow each episode with a short listen summary so you can see the placement actually went to air.
Deliverables
- Four host-read mentions across consecutive biweekly episodes (about eight weeks)
- Script drafted collaboratively; sign-off required before each read airs
- A listen summary sent after each of the four episodes
- Optional mention of a specific offer or date, confirmed in the script stage
Field Season Partnership
$1,210 CADA three-month partnership for organizations that want an ongoing presence rather than a single burst. It bundles a sponsor credit on our field-reporting section, a feature mention in the newsletter each month, six podcast mentions spread across the term, and one partner-labelled feature story about your organization's role in the Kanata and west-end community.
We open the partnership with a kickoff call to plan the three months, keep a shared calendar so you can see what's coming, and send a short plain-language update every month on what ran and what's next.
Deliverables
- Sponsor credit on the field-reporting section of the site for three months
- One newsletter feature mention per month (three total)
- Six podcast mentions distributed across the partnership term
- One partner-labelled feature article, clearly marked as sponsored
- Kickoff call, shared production calendar and a monthly written update
What we don't do
- We don't sell placements to businesses outside Kanata and Ottawa's west end — our audience is local and a mismatched advertiser gets little value from the placement.
- We don't blend sponsor copy into our news reporting. Every placement is labelled clearly as advertising, in the newsletter, on air and in text.
- We don't offer discounts for repeat bookings or bundle placements at a lower combined price — the three prices above are the complete rate card.
- We don't guarantee a sales result, a lead count or a follower increase from any placement — we deliver the format as booked and report what actually ran.
Who produces the placements
Dispatch Labs is a working local newsroom, not an ad broker. Newsletter copy is drafted by the same small editorial team that writes our west-end coverage, and podcast reads are recorded by our own host in the Kanata studio — the same voice listeners already know from the weekly episode. Sponsor placements are reviewed by the same editor who checks our reporting, so wording stays plain and accurate before it goes out.

About the prices
The prices above are complete for the placement described — there is no separate production fee for copywriting, script drafting or the review step. What can change the timing (not the price) is availability in the edition or episode you want; booking a few weeks ahead gives us more scheduling room. Payment and booking terms, including how creative deadlines and approvals work, are set out in full on our advertising terms page. Questions about a specific placement, or about our coverage area, are answered on our FAQ page — or reach us directly using the details below.
